It still amazes me how little attention Hoskins' death got earlier this year, at least that's the feeling I got. He was such a cool guy.

Not sci-fi but A Simple Plan has one of the most tense and emotionally retching allegiance tests when Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thorton team up to reel their co-conspirator (Brent Boscoe) back in. Billy Bob seemingly switches sides with no indication to Paxton (or the audience) that he's coming back...

An episode of Star Trek (original series) called 'The enterprise incident'. Spock appeared to be besotted by a sexy Romulan commander. He even started to flirt with her. Of course it was all a ploy but a great episode, one of my favourites.

Nothing beats Hunter Gathers' gender bending triple-cross. Nothing.

Don't forget the equally bad-as-Catwoman Jennifer Garner vehicle Elektra! Or Christian Slater's sister's movie Supergirl! Barb Wire! Ghost World! Red Sonja! Tank Girl! A handful of American comic book movies starring women!

I was a little boy at a skiing rental house in Tahoe, and there was a poster of all the Blue Meanies on the wall of the room I was staying in. This was probably about 1979. They terrified me.

Bayern Munich responded by immediately signing Hulk.

I'm pretty sure all you would have to do to write a convincing homosexual relationship is write a convincing heterosexual relationship, and then go through the text and change the gender specific words. You might want to avoid writing too much about sex, but there are ways to get around that.

He always seemed delicately poised; an extreme example of laughing on the outside, crying on the inside. He's like a life of the party friend you lose touch with, and years later hear is involved in some tragedy.

Media inaccuracy has a long history. The difference today is there aren't the excuses of the past.Today it's about outdoing your competition before vetting information.Being first instead of being right or making sure you're right.Revenue, ratings and publicity trump accuracy and properly informing your audience.
