Majority of Tesla shareholders are lifelong Muskies. It’s pretty much guaranteed the vote to pay him will pass, unless there’s an internal struggle for the seat (there isn’t). $56B for one person is an absurd amount. Something tells me he might be cashing out, now that people are getting cold feet with EVs.

The study used the generic “Our takeaway - if you’re buying a brand new EV - be it a new make or a new model - there’s a higher potential for a battery replacement, but you should expect it to be fully covered by the vehicle warranty.”

The issue with all of these is flawed data. From my understanding (please correct me if I am wrong) the data is pulled from the projected mileage at % SoC. IE 300 miles @ 100%, 280 miles @ 90%, etc. However, the BMS reserves a portion for thermal management. As the temp of the HV battery or exterior climate change,

What a weird metric. They were never at 100% of EPA range because Tesla apparently is able to score real well with the EPA test, but does horribly in real life. So saying they only achieve 64% of that is... well, kind of meaningless as far of “degradation” claims go. Give us what they actually started out with. Did

Dont give them too much credit. They have a habit of being slow to change and giving in to corp bullshit vs maintaining a solid product.

In a few years? The used bolt market is pretty great with all the rebates right now.

As currently implemented, daytime running lamps turn on lights on the front of the car, and not on the rear. The problem is that the selection ALSO lights up the dashboard - just as if your night time lights were operating. As a result, and especially during the winter, almost every night I run up on vehicles which

...yet governments can’t mandate automatic headlights AND TAIL LIGHTS that turn on when it gets dark.

I don’t see this as new. It’s GM’s 50+ year old way of doing things:

I regularly drive with Waze open so I can get alerts for things like speed traps and car crashes.

Think longer term.

Instead of disabling the GPS, just don’t consent to your location being tracked. They cannot force you to be monitored 24/7 (yet).

Last year we bought a ‘22 Chevy Bolt EV, and liked it so much that earlier this year we replaced it with a ‘23 Chevy Bolt EUV. To me, the biggest mistake Chevy is making is cancelling the Bolt and pushing all customers up to the Blazer EV (which starts at $49K).

Because school zones in many places aren’t a hard stop 25mph. many also say “when children are present” and have their own flashers that indicate this. So the school zone may be a part of a street that is generally 45mph, but you only go 25 during school hours specifically before and after school.

Just one more nail in the nearly infinite number sealing the coffin of my desire to ever buy another new car. I actually am not against speed limiters, but just make it so the damned car won’t go any faster, not make an annoying racket. 85mph would be plenty.

What is this? A camper for chickens?

RVs are sold on price and features/gizmos/bells/whistles to people who think they’ll be using them a ton, but end up using them not a whole lot. So you get lots of compromised solutions that are all about looking good on the spec sheet but don’t stand up to the actual rigors of use. The result is that most RVs, after

Most RVs are built in and around Elkhart Indiana and there are a lot of Amish employed by these manufacturers. There are also a lot of non Amish there and both segments build them to the quality standards the manufacturer will accept.

Is this why all the RVs in my neighborhood are always parked and maybe get used once or twice a year for the weekend?

Wife just sent me this with “probably about the same build quality as a real one” https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/producers-pride-camper-tractor-chicken-coop-8-bird-capacity
