Spent a couple minutes* on google and yeah, this particular roadblock is over a mile away from the bridge with only a few places accessible from the road shown without alternate routes. The only thing I can think of is that perhaps, just perhaps, there was a turn off or another road before the bridge proper and people needed NOT to get across the bridge but to another location near the river.

I have driven past several “road closed” signs in order to get to my house which is just past the barricade.

Get a grip. BMW turn signal engineers manage to keep it together. Be more like them.

i always find it interesting how you americans call these “derailments”. where i’m from something that involves cranes and produces scrap metal is far beyond a simple derailment and would be called a major accident
