The Dreamliner demo for Farnborough 2014 was better. Same dramatic takeoff, but note the touch and go, immediately followed by a hard-banking turn. The Airbus guys got their panties in a wad after Boeing pulled this stunt, so they had to tone it down this year. True story.
The only reason I’d want to come back is for the money. It was pretty good.

They're tested before the start of employment, but not afterward (unless they do something stupid, like damaging a plane, or falling asleep in the belly under takeoff).

No, unfortunately I haven't taken many trips so far this year - only two. I flew a Qatar 777 from IAH to Doha on January, then in February I flew Alaska Airlines for the first time, on a trip from DEN to Seattle. I'm currently begging American to get me on one of their early 787 flights.
I think this one is sold out as well, though you might have luck by trying Craigslist or something.
