I too have a friend working there... They do give raises on a fairly regular basis, apparently. Was told of one of his coworkers who was given a whopping 1¢/hour raise. YES, 1 fucking penny. Was also told that he walked on the spot.
The few people I’ve known to work at HD have said many(if not most) power tool thefts are from employees, who I assume will have access to whatever activation equipment would be necessary. I’m guessing the real solution here is to pay better wages that de-incentivize internal theft which will hopefully increase moral…
