My favourite 2018 IV line describing Gerard Butler comes from the review of Den of Thieves: “Gerard Butler, looking like he just ate Russell Crowe.”

I hate these “not the film for this moment” that the AV Club plays because then the review has an expiration date. A better review for Death Wish was written on Arrow in the Head because they said, “I know gun usage is unpopular and a sore spot but I still like this movie”.
It’s reasonably good, creepy fun, provided you’re not troubled by fleeting, uncomfortable thoughts like “Hey, that screaming bloodthirsty mutant monster could theoretically be a reanimated Anne Frank.”
Why would anyone think that? Somebody whose having too much fun and needs to settle down.
And what was that movie called?
I thought that. Hereditary is one of my favourite movies of the year, but Hill House also utilizes the TV advantage in order to create arguably one of the best things Netflix has done.
I enjoyed it too but it was out of the blue and went on a bit too long and didn’t include inventive use of the setting, when it went beyond the therapy sessions it went too far into convenience, but I didn’t actually get that Fisk set up their date until Dex said it. I knew he’d screw it up but I don’t buy that she’d…
So here I am, taking a stand in the comment section of a weeks old article. I am alone in saying the first season one was more impressive. The choreography for this one camera and action isn’t all that impressive and worse it doesn’t look like one take because of the lighting and obvious switch outs like matt falling…
The wife isn’t out of Tim Allen’s league (arfarfarf tim allen groan)
I rewatched it recently and it wasn’t as good as I remember it, but you can’t match that excitement at the time. It’s still very good but the feeling was gone.
This movie isn’t good and the author gives too much credit to Erivo who is okay. https://filmgamer.wordpress.com/2018/10/24/the-cabin-in-the-woods-director-does-a-tarantino-imitation-w-bad-times-at-the-el-royale/
“Guy reminds me of my college roommate who made me go see Coyote Ugly because he loved Jerry Bruckheimer.”
I didn’t know people like that existed but I’m happy they do. It’s hilarious.
This movie is very boring... however... https://filmgamer.wordpress.com/2018/09/17/66-100-for-108-of-its-201-running-time-mandy-is-a-boring-slog/
Jake Busey is in The Predator as a scientist.
When I watched it I thought after the camp clearing scene they all get taken out to lunch.
I was thinking about The Rock then I re-watched Blade Runner 2049 again and wondered why people don’t call Dave Bautista.
I have complained to Dowd and IV about ruining the movies they review, but if he explains there’s one great scene and then follows that up with describing it, it’s fair warning. Whereas mentioning that Matt Damon is in Interstellar out of nowhere, or that Ryan Gosling is a robot when specifically told not to spoil: con…
Was she flirty with Fallon or was it just me? Single older women are out of control flirty.
It was a competition for Stallone and Schwarzenegger. They’re fighting for our dollars.
Those media set in Baltimore and Albuquerque have a strong sense of place, and their characters even Tuco are characters given some dimension. The problem isn’t necessarily that they are latino, rather that there is no purpose to them being latino like how they were Russian in John Wick. Sure it might not hurt too…
If it’s a list doesn’t there have to be a third item? I wouldn’t want Trump or Palin who are fake news progenitors stinking up my funeral.
