Yes.

Because the number of times you will ever conceivably start in the post-season, which is basically a crap shoot in the first place, is, what, a max of 4-6 times?

Vs. Literally the entire rest of the year.

Just because it has “post season” written on it doesn’t make it different from a normal game.

And, counter to that, their biggest rivals have THREE titles this decade led by rosters that I don’t think anybody (Me included, as a Giants fan) really expected to be winners.

I’m no kershaw fan but isnt that kinda mean of SI???

I’m not sure a team that’s posted 7 straight 90+ win seasons and 7 straight post-seasons and still has this fucking roster is a lock to be considered failures for another 7. Or another one, for that matter.

I think it’s a little early to count the Dodgers out. That team is willing to spend money like no other, plus they still have some amazing prospects coming up to the big leagues. Does that guarantee them a World Series? Of course not, but I think the Dodgers are more likely to stay relevant for at least another 5

Baseball is littered with players who were among the best of their generation who either choked often in the playoffs, or - more of these - rarely if ever made them.

It’s hard to win a World Series, even for teams as good as the Dodgers have been for the last half-decade or so. A lot of breaks have to go your way.

One could argue that the smoltz/glavine/maddux rotation is the greatest starting 3 in the history of baseball. They had 3 hall of fame pitchers in the prime of their pitching careers they should've had a minimum of 3 ws over that time period

well, his ERA+ is literally 2nd all time and 1st all time for Starters. So yes, you can

He was awful last night, but I don’t know if you can say “never” in regarsd to his postseason performance. Until last year that was the storyline around David Price, and he put that to bed pretty emphatically.

Yes, you can.

Did his dad abandon them in October? That would explain a lot.

Is that a derivation of Keats?

There was an old saying about the Braves and their pitching staff whenever the playoffs rolled around in the 90's.

The Braves had one of the best rotations in baseball for a long time.  They won 14 consecutive division titles and only had one World Series win to show for it.  Some teams just struggle to get it done in the postseason.  The Dodgers are going to go down as another one of those teams.

This is such a bad take. Sure, it transits through Bob ‘Two Tugs’ Kraft’s bank account for a while, but ultimately the money Bill Belichick gets in salary comes from your and my pocket, every time we buy a set of winter tires, every time we insure our truck, every time we take our family to dinner at Chico’s Faux

Try something for me, Dave. Google “who is GM of the Patriots.” With or without the quotes. Your choice.

Then she would get called "disrespectful."

Maybe coaches don’t owe the media anything, but he is in charge of personnel too. So if someone is added or subtracted from the team, it is fair to ask the personnel guy about that.
