Netflix just doesn’t have anything that appeals to me anymore. They’ve got a ton of “meh” stuff, like a TON of it, but nothing that you really want to watch. And with HBOMax and Disney+ out there, its not worth it.

It is most definitely worth getting rooftop solar. A lot of the information you’ll find online is supplied by industry which means the power utilities have a big sway so the result in many cases is not surprisingly made to look unfavorable.

I would pay a crap ton for electricity, during the summer around $800 a month sometimes. I have a pool where the filter runs for 12 hours a day and an A/C blasting as well.

If you just go with a provided solar array like SolarCity, then you don’t have the upfront cost - just pay them for power at pretty reduced rate compared to utility rates generally.

You hit the nail on the head - as long as you don’t get paid for extra electricity that you generate on your property, it’s not really a financial improvement over just paying the utility. And that’s exactly the desired outcome of the legislation that was passed.

I think adding solar to your house also really depends on the number of people living there, and your lifestyle.  A family of 6 will use more than a single guy in the same house.

FPL is the biggest down here but by no means the only one. Curious how others (like Duke Energy) feel about it, since any legislation would affect all of them.

I don’t see how anyone can listen to music with lyrics while they write. Maybe some people are wired for it. If someone is even talking around me when I’m writing I always end up writing down what they’re saying instead of what I’m trying to write.
