Despite being very complex and strange, David Lynch’s “Dune” did a better job of explaining spice and the mentats. The voice-overs and inner monologues went a long way to help parse out the strangeness of the material.

The series, so far, has had it’s strengths and weaknesses but is pretty damned entertaining and addictive.

Oh, Jeffrey Combs is great. I always love to hear his voice, and he did a great job as Amigus (although, given the one-eyed design, I suspect someone in the character design department has a proclivity for Mafia-style video games what the kids are into). The man is an absolute legend and it is always a joy to see (or hear) him pop up in anything. There often seems to be a wonderful undercurrent of him genuinely enjoying whatever he’s doing on-screen. Not necessarily from the character's perspective, but as an actor. It’s incredibly charming.

Welcome, Final Space, into the family of shows whose darkest-before-the-dawn cliffhanger season finales have been transformed via cancellation into pitch black series finales. You may be the darkest one of all.
