Despite being very complex and strange, David Lynch’s “Dune” did a better job of explaining spice and the mentats. The voice-overs and inner monologues went a long way to help parse out the strangeness of the material.

Its a pity the whole lore of the Mentats’ was ignored for the release; in fact I’d speculate if someone who hasn’t read the books might have been a tad confused by the eye-rolling. Hopefully there’ll be an Extended Cut that gives more context to the two we meet in the Atreides and Harkonnen camps. Same for Dr Yueh; he…
The parasol just underscores the ridiculousness that on a brutal desert planet, not a single person thinks to put on sunglasses.
Apart from the fact Feyd is of an age with Paul, I would agree.
I demand a Leto II giant manworm, or I cancel my HBO.
the US is a rounding error compared to the actual big polluters. I’m not saying it doesn’t matter in terms of thought leadership and in terms of morality, but in terms of actual greenhouse tons of carbon-equivalent the US could go net negative and it wouldn’t change the projections more than a few thousandths of a…
Hellraiser 1 and 2 are fun. Can’t speak to any of the sequels though.
creative genius Joss Whedon presents the only thing he knows how to write: More Deadly Ingénues, now with more Wish Fulfillment Dialog
The series, so far, has had it’s strengths and weaknesses but is pretty damned entertaining and addictive.
I am not a avid Doctor Who fan, so don’t know the names of all the doctors, but for a minute I thought you said “Peter Davidson” and was picturing this guy as the next Doctor Who:
I know they ran out of Weyoun clones in the last season of DS9, but I would happily cook anyone a meal if they would have him show up in Discovery as a future version. I mean, the Dominion lasted for 2000 years before its big war with the Federation, they have to still be in existence in some form, right?
Oh, Jeffrey Combs is great. I always love to hear his voice, and he did a great job as Amigus (although, given the one-eyed design, I suspect someone in the character design department has a proclivity for Mafia-style video games what the kids are into). Here’s to continued appearances for as long as possible!
The man is an absolute legend and it is always a joy to see (or hear) him pop up in anything. There often seems to be a wonderful undercurrent of him genuinely enjoying whatever he’s doing on-screen. Not necessarily from the character's perspective, but as an actor. It’s incredibly charming.
Welcome, Final Space, into the family of shows whose darkest-before-the-dawn cliffhanger season finales have been transformed via cancellation into pitch black series finales. You may be the darkest one of all.
I thought this was interesting:
I am in favor of Jodie Comer being in all the things, even if I have to wait to make up my mind later as to whether or not I am going to want to watch them.
I know you’re having fun with the age discrepancies in film
I was told there would be no math
I just found out it was called gumato in the script but Deforest Kelly kept mis calling it so it got changed ....learning new things everyday !
She was also a main character in Legend of the Seeker: Kahlan Amnell, Mother Confessor
