Patty Jenkins should be glad she has HBO Max and Covid to scapegoat for the poor box office performance of WW84. That movie was a scattershot mess with a nonsensical plot, it was a definite drop off in quality from her first WW movie.

Anything that forces Hollywood to pay more attention to plot and character, instead of big-screen visual spectacle backed up by cliché-laden lazy writing is a good thing in my book.

For me, both Melanie Lynskey and Judy Greer are criminally underrated, always interesting character actresses. Even though this looks... not great, I’ll still give it a shot because I’d watch anything with those two separately, so I’ll definitely check them out together.

Looks kinda meh, but I’ll watch anything with Judy Greer.  I still love the scene in “Halloween” where she’s playing the ‘damsel in distress’ in the basement until Michael Myers falls into the trap and she does a complete 180: “Gotcha.”

I see that you’ve failed to mention Richard Ayoade (voted fan favorite to replace Whittaker a few months ago) and my disappointment is immense.
