You are one of the lucky ones. It’s about 50/50 with my IU friends. Unsurprisingly, the Knight guys are the Trump guys.

As an IU grad and IU fan, I just want to say that IU basketball fans deserve the worst, given their unwavering support for unrepentant douche bag Bobby Knight.

As an IU grad, I just thought he was another scumbag coach trying to get ahead. Thanks for shedding some light on Sampson and his background. Apart from the use of the word ‘problematic,’ this was a good read.

. . . he is also prone to throwing hilarious, terrible interceptions, the kind of blind picks that delight me so long as they are not thrown by my own quarterback. His winning percentage against teams above .500 is also notably atrocious… one more litmus test in case you were looking for one.

Yup. I remember 25 cent wing night in college at Buffalo Wild Wings and Weck (No one will ever know what “weck” is. Sure, they tell you it is bread, but we all know the truth.) in 1997. That was nice.

Yeah, but getting rid of one game on Thursday won’t change that. Well, maybe a little, but it is pretty much there on Tuesday - Saturday anyway.

I mean, you still have an average of 11 to 12 games on Sunday, with one on Monday and Thursday. That’s still a ton of concentration! And the NFL is making a ton of money with the Thursday package, so it isn’t going anywhere. They need to fix it, since they won’t eliminate it.

I don’t get this. You realize you don’t HAVE to watch it all, right? I like having the option on Thursdays to watch it. I actually prefer Thursday night to Monday night personally. Who wants to stay up late on a Monday?

Yeah, everyone is jumping on that word “lazy”. But I am not a fan of “I don’t like something as it is, so eliminate it entirely instead of trying to fix it” arguments, as I think they don’t take much thought. And the fix here is easy, so why say “Getting rid of Thursday Night Football” is the solution when it won’t

So the grays are asking how you fix it. There are 7 bye weeks between weeks 4 and 11 in the NFL, with at least two teams per week on the bye. Weeks 8 and 9 each have 6 teams on a bye. You could add two more bye weeks (say weeks 4 - 13) since teams like to rest later in the year and hate the early byes. Then, you

Thanks for the well thought point. I get what you and a lot of folks on here are saying in that the NFL is everywhere all of the time. But even with the expanded schedule, the ratings still wipe out every other program on television. Why would the NFL go back to the way the schedule was when it doesn’t make economic

That is exactly what I said. If the teams playing both had a bye week before they played, it would be fine. Totally eliminating the games because you don’t like the quality of play do to lack of rest is an over-broad solution to an easily solvable problem (i.e., lazy). The “over-saturation” arguments are a different

I’ll guess I’ll reply to myself because otherwise it gets deleted, but I don’t see over-saturation due to Thursday night football as a problem. Every game isn’t and doesn’t need to be “must see” TV. NBA, NHL, MLB all have a ton of games and all are very popular and make a ton of money. The NFL’s “down” ratings are

But if you did it only weeks where the teams playing were coming off a bye, that would be fine, and would address all of your issues, except for saturation. And your issue with saturation is weird, because you control how much you read and watch about the NFL. It is saturated no matter what, and you control what you
