It’s an objectively nice car that I would never have bought new, even if it perfectly fit my budget.

Seriously. When you think “Classic Mustang” or “Greatest Mustang of all time” you think of a hatchback. Those are just facts.
I feel similarly about the upright 2-door coupe vs the sedan. Yes, if you’re talking about something with tiny rear seats, 2-doors makes sense. But I will never understand why so many people go for the 4-series over the 3-series for instance.
Was it exciting? Or was it obnoxiously only mated to an automatic transmission with the more powerful engine option?
I’d rather they shoved a 3-cylinder in there, the 268 hp one from the Yaris GR.
The most interesting Toyotas available in America are now made by BMW and Subaru.
Thanks to some spray paint and a stencil! (Hankook RS4's I believe)
The beer, like the car is NA. They don’t sell Old Milwaukee in Washington where we live, so a teammate drove all the way to the Oregon border to pick some up. The first place he found that had some was only selling the non-alcoholic version and felt as though he’d traveled far enough that day so we went with it. Our…
I race one in Lemons. They still suck.
My first car was a 1988 Toyota Celica All-Trac I bought with money I made working a summer job as a kid. It was turbocharged, all-wheel drive, low slung and still appreciably fast (or at least not slow) by early 2000's standards. I loved that car. I loved the rarity, i loved the rally homologation story and I loved…
I had a friend in college who was legitimately 7 feet tall. It gave me an appreciation for how difficult that kind of height can make your life. I remember asking him one time why he drove a pickup truck (I’m into sports cars) and he was like “Uh. It’s the only car I can fit in.” (I felt pretty dumb after that one.)
It did work just as well! Not sure if this is what you’re referring to, but the Wipeout CD for PS1 could be put into a normal CD player where it would play the music from the game.
Hnnnng!!! Wipeout was the first game I ever owned when I stepped up from a SNES into the 3D world of gaming on offer from the PS1.
I’m pretty sure the Young SS body pieces are available in Forza 7 on the regular Subaru 360. I remember researching it when I worked at Turn 10 and making sure that the roof made it into the game.
It might “feel” faster when you get to row through the gears - but it doesn’t change how fast someone is closing in on you from behind when you’re trying to merge.
This exactly.
Touche.
Yeah, i maybe should’ve made allowances for the extreme end of things. My friend had a 4Runner on big ass tires with the old 22RE 4-banger from the 80's that I drove a few times. It struggled to top 70 on the freeway.
Manual 240D is actually one of my all time favorite cars to drive. To me, they don’t feel “underpowered” so much as “the correct amount of power to keep up with traffic if driven at 90 to 100 percent of its capabilities.” (which is why I like driving them.)
Hot take: Almost nothing feels “dangerously underpowered” if it has a manual. The only time i’ve ever felt that “Woah...I really need to go faster here for safety’s sake” feeeling has been with autos that refused to kickdown.
