But the Suburban is moving 8 people. If we want to move 8 people with a Prius, you need either 2 trips or 2 Priuses. Passenger miles per gallon isn’t really conducive when combining the fuel mileages; so instead, we can use gallons per 100 passenger miles (the 100 is so that we don’t end up with super small numbers

Unless that Suburban has more people in it.  It was more efficient for us to drive 1,000 miles in 1 Suburban with 6 people in it than it would have been to drive with 4 people in one car and 2 in another car.
