"I didn't realize there were great drives in Australia beyond Mt. Panorama."

Sure, but can it still hold a 44 gallon drum?

It looks like a big Datsun

I know why he prefers it. It's the only car ever sold with an Oscillating Vent feature (this and the following generation). No seriously. Benz can keep their fancy "natural air effect". There was a manual one for sale near my house and despite the plain-jane appearance I actually considered it for those two highlights

This too - there was this dude with a tuned Civic, and couldnt find his car in the parking lot.. he was either really effing high, or seriously doesn't know his car was called a "civic" (he actually said he did not know what he drove, when i asked to help him find it)

Also a pet peeve: not knowing how to spell the name

a bit too pricey as it seems, yet where would you find a Citroen XM diesel wagon in Canada? but like a Merc with manual tranny, i don't really like where the parking brake is placed. other than that... anyone interested?

Australia is not a 3rd World Country and we can get these. For about $72,000. Yes, you read right.

If you must have an SUV why not pick a rwd wagon in disguise?

Nice! My brother has an 83 with the 5 speed conversion that used to be his DD. It is also huge, smelly, and rusty, and loud (aftermarket exhaust) and awesome! A carb rebuild was all it has needed, and it is go anywhere ridiculousness.

I daily drove an 85 FJ60 for 8 years. Started with 2.5" lift and 32's and ended up with 35's, gears, lockers, bumpers, armor and lots and lots of body damage. It was huge, smelly, rusty, dented, inefficient and soooo much fun. It never once left me stranded and always got me home. I'll buy another someday!

Also, while we're giving credit the original range, i think the FJ60 deserves a shout out. Both kinda grandfathered the "can do" mindset that make SUVs awesome. And the both turned into luxo barges that somehow still "can do."

2014 S class

EAII Ford Falcon/Fairmont quite obviously... Gross.

When I first stepped into my 97 Holden Commodore after moving to Australia, I said to myself "I've never been in one, but I feel like I just purchased a Buick Roadmaster here." I think that's more or less accurate.

And here's the hip, young, go-getter that helped Ford sell their horseless carriages.

The Renault Mégane RS, because it's amazing and because we use it as a highway patrol car.

Don't forget the Renualt RS brand with the Clio RS and Mégane RS

There are countries smaller than the Citroen CX Safari but with its hydro-pneumatic suspension, cassette desck between the front seats, nutty instrument binnacle and single-spoke steering wheel, nothing could possibly be more French.

The Peugeot 504 wagon. The one on the right was mine; the left belonged to a friend. Both were diesels. Both slow, a bit aromatic, but had the best seats on the planets and utterly cavernous back seats and cargo areas. I miss mine dearly...

Dude, I kind of like the ElDo. Especially the TwinStar.
