I guess I’m not the only one to find Linda Perry terrifying.
Yeah, the one that was prominently featured on this website.
So I should ignore the review from the other day?
Yeah I don’t have strong feelings about the guys one way or another but the phrase “the origins of the Jedi” makes me recoil in disgust. Please, God, no.
Dodged a bullet more than we thought. A origin of the Jedi story is a terrible idea now matter who does it but an even worse idea being done by the guys who’ve already proven they don’t give a shit about the world someone else already created or what they had in mind.
but the Variety story also claims that Benioff and Weiss might’ve been victims of a desire at Lucasfilm to avoid “new ideas” in favor of “old standbys.”
I’d love a film that tackles the question of why the Galaxy’s technology seems to be stagnant and what the means
OH GOOD MORE PREQUELS PLEASE EXPLAIN EVERYTHING.
I disliked the execution of the Canto Bight sequence, but I liked the idea behind it. Early on, that’s actually what I was most excited about. The concept’s interesting enough that part of me thinks the Resistance half of the film should’ve taken place entirely on Canto Bight and them trying to get off the planet.
Drew Magary is free. Maybe he can start a “Why Your Star System Sucks” feature.
If they wanted to deliberately tank the Star Wars deal in favour of Netflix, here’s how that pitch meeting probably went.
Playing off what you said, I am one of the few, if not the only, people who actually liked the extended Canto Blight sequence in The Last Jedi, precisely because it was in a part of the Star Wars universe that wasn’t immediately about Jedi or Sith or Empire and Rebels. Would love to see a ‘Feast for Crows’ style story…
Is Kathleen Kennedy as dumb and craven as Spanfeller? I think not.
I don’t even particularly dislike B&W, but I’m glad this isn’t getting made. The Jedi, like Han Solo are so completely self-explanatory that delving into their history feels more reductive than illuminating.
I’m sure they’re very worried about the well-reviewed movie he made that earned them gobs of money.
That sounds lame anyhow. Going forward I think it would be a really good idea to focus less on the Jedi rather than more. The Jedi are THE WORST! Even those ancients in the Clone Wars were horrible.
I’m assuming that the Star Wars franchise will survive these management issues.
