It asks a lot of its players— it’s the first game where I can vividly remember hurling my controller— but I agree that it’s levelling system allowed you to manage the difficulty well. The downstroke was a huge boon to Link’s skill set, and the game’s harsh approach to death did lead…

I played Resident Evil 2 on the N64 back in 2001, surrounded by my roommates, and generally it was a pretty fun experience. I played Resident Evil on the GameCube in 2003 while my now-wife was sleeping off the flu in our bedroom, and while it got pretty creepy, I was able to progress through.

Thankfully, Mellencamp’s little pink house remains secure.

The changes to the SALT (state and local tax) deduction are definitely going to f**k a lot of people over, myself included. We should be happy, I suppose, that Susan Collins (of all people) fought to keep it in there at all.

Yeah, I’d been watching this season assuming it would be the last. They’ve done a lot of interesting things with Haley’s character this season.

My New Year’s resolution in 2018 was to stop eating fast food, which in my case was about 95% McDonald’s.  I stuck to it (and still am), but goddamn this article was fascinating and hunger-inducing.

Same here, RS subscriptions were included with certain Ticketmaster purchases for awhile.  At some point two copies of each issue were appearing in my mailbox every two weeks.

Big Lebowski, for sure. Saw it in the theater in ‘98 and liked it; watched it again a year later on VHS and loved it; had monthly screenings of it in my house senior year of college and it became my favorite movie. Just saw it again in the theater last summer. The Dude abides, indeed.

I’m reminded of the road-rage revenge scene in Wild Tales, which did not end as happily as this.

There is a new placed in Arlington, MA called the Adventure Pub with a focus on gaming.  Their chicken strips are referred to as ‘Chocobo Fingers’.  That is all.

Surprised to see Eighth Grade got totally snubbed, and thought If Beale Street would definitely get a Best Picture nom. Biggest snub in my mind is no Ethan Hawke for First Reformed, although interesting to see Pawlikowski take what I assumed was Cooper’s nod for Best Director.

In my 40s I’ve been catching up on a lot of great 20th century movies I’d never seen, and I’m surprised how often I say, “Oh shit, that’s what the Simpsons were referencing!”

I did ‘One More Minute’ at a karaoke night once, which went really well, largely because no one in the audience seemed to be familiar with the song.  Singing about being dumped goes over well with drunks at a bar, I guess.

Jam tomorrow, jam yesterday... well, jam yesterday, anyway.

It’s true that there are more NES games on Switch Online five months into its existence than there were five months into the Wii Virtual Console’s.  It’s also true that the VC was up and running on day one, while it took 18 months from the Switch launch to get Online.
