Apparently when you drive an electric car, they don’t apply to you or something:
Sources have been telling Tyler that as many as 17 F-22s were unable to escape Tyndall Air Force Base prior to hurricane Michael.
A Studebaker Avanti!
Because it looks like we are getting more of it!
The Atlantic has a very cool gallery of Jack Delano’s photos of Chicago’s railyards taken in the early 1940s:
More specifically, they have awarded $9.2B (and probably a lot more to come) to the Boeing/Saab team to develop and build new trainers to replace the long-serving T-38. The main competitor was the Lockheed/KAI T-50, which was a more mature choice. The Boeing/Saab T-X was purpose-built for this competition.
My ad blocker crashed, and this is what I’m seeing on Kinja:
Welcome all, to another edition of Fur Face Friday, your source for the best pets of the Kinjaverse! No time to chat this week, so let’s get to it!
Yeah I know it’s actually foam board and plywood, sorry for the misleading title.
The Atlantic has a big story on a new deadline to revive the Opportunity rover on Mars:
So I hit a snag with my build from earlier this summer. I apparently spent so much time worrying about whether the massive Noctua NH-D15 cooler was too tall to fit in the case (it fits, but it has at most a few mm to spare) that I neglected to consider whether it would actually fit properly on the motherboard (after…

I’m not talking about the fact Kinja is duplicating most of my replies, or that ominous bookmark thing, I’m talking about permalinks not actually liking to…
So this was kind of cool:
Despite whining about RAM prices as recently as yesterday morning, I’ve pulled the trigger on some stuff, some of which is now here (though the case won’t get here until Tuesday, expedited shipping is apparently expensive for steel boxes ).
Almost there Google, keep working at it!
I have a tiny (maybe 2mm long) bug that has somehow gotten behind the glass (possibly even behind the lcd panel) on one of my monitors, and is just crawling around in there. Either that or I have been subject to a very weird hack. I imagine it will have a hard time getting out, so I think my best hope is to wait for…
I’m not surprised, this always seemed unlikely. I supposed you can say that Trump played Kim, given that Kim blew up his nuclear test facility earlier today, but on the other hand, most assessments were that the facility had been damaged beyond repair by the nuclear tests so it’s not much of a loss for North Korea. On…
The Washington Post has an interesting article on the repo business, focusing on their use of license plate readers to find cars.
