The PvP feature was the main draw for many legacy D2 players. D2 multiplayer and PvP has kept the game going for a decade, and people were looking forward to the new offering. Then Blizz said PvP won't be ready for release, but don't worry, it will be released soon. Then they went silent on it, as Blizz tends to do

The difference is that the first 2 Bioshocks were not about the multiplayer. The reason D2 is still being played a decade after its initial release is because it has infinite variability due to its PvP, and the PvP was one of the most popular features of that game. Also, Bioshock was never promised and hyped to have

I reread the entire series starting in May, just so I'd be done with it and ready for AMoL. I cannot freaking wait for it, but as you say, I'm going to be sad to see it end. I look forward to rereading the entire series from start to finish over the course of 3ish months in a year or two.

I read it, but I really didn't enjoy it all that much. It had interesting ideas, and interesting characters, but the story itself wasn't all that intriguing.

Did this most recent reboot have a name attached to it, like "Crisis of Infinite Earths"?

I've heard the terms pre-crisis and post-crisis in regards to DC comics. What crisis does that refer to?

Hadfield isn't the ISS Commander yet. Kevin Ford is. Hadfield becomes Commander once Ford undocks for return to Earth.

Hah! Haha. You expect people to take responsibility for their own actions. That's hilarious.

He also has an island for a pet.

We have a Brandon Sanderson fan over here :)

I second this. He also gets in fist-fights and brawls with supernatural beings that would make most people crap their pants and then make their crap crap ITS pants.

He doesn't actually get into a lot of fights and blow stuff up. This list, as noted above, is for people who punch things and blow stuff up regularly, not just heroes who save the world.

The Malm bed is also very attractive, simple, cheap, and sturdy.

Current explanation, yes. I'd like to hear some specifics on how/what the server and local machines communicate to each other, but it's very difficult to think of a reason where an always-on internet connection is required for gameplay reasons for a game like SimCity.

The problem with that one (saw the trailer for the first time yesterday) is that many of the jokes in the trailer are direct ports from jokes made in the previous Scary Movie movies.

The first one is pretty funny, mainly because it was the first such movie of its kind, it had a standalone plot that was not just 1.5 hours of pop culture references, and it really did spear "horror" film stereotypes.

Aye. It's the same with Blizzard. The community backfire was immense, but many people were willing to overlook it because Diablo. However, they've been burned now, and future games with always-on DRM requirements from Blizzard will be taken with a huge grain of salt.

It could be the explanation, depending on how they're doing the simulation of the responses and behaviors. They could be doing simulation of all possible responses to all possible situations on their cloud servers, and then passing the local machine the ones it needs to perform the simulation for the next 3 minutes.

See: Ubisoft games. They had some of the most restrictive DRM schemes imaginable, but because of public outcry by the vocal minority, they cut down on restrictive DRM schemes.

Exactly true. All design decisions made for D3 make perfect sense if you assume that the point of the game was the RMAH, and not the actual game. All initial design decisions were made to maximize traffic and profit through the RMAH for Blizzard.
