Kia and Hyundai make some compelling vehicles, but every single owner that I know complains about the constant warnings and alerts. You CAN turn them off but they just turn themselves right back on when you leave the car. That’s a dealbreaker for me. Why can’t you just save my settings?

“Better” is subjective. The Mach-E is subjectively better looking to many people, has a nicer interior, better driving dynamics, a screen behind the steering wheel, and a better service network. Every single insurance quote I’ve gotten for the Mach E has been substantially lower than the Model Y as well, but YMMV…

I bet if Hertz does start buying more EVs for its fleet, it’ll be more cars like the Chevy Bolt. Incredibly low total cost of ownership. Cheap car, cheap tires, cheap repairs. The only thing it really lacks for a rental car is space for luggage.

I’ve been telling people for years that you won’t save money by going to Tesla/Polestar. What you save in gas you lose in more frequent tire swaps, higher insurance premiums, and huge repair costs. Buy the car if you like the car, but don’t do it for savings (unless you’re coming from a Ford F-250 or something).
