When I first discovered io9 in grad school, it was like stumbling into a secret world of people like me that I didn’t know existed. I’ve always loved science, and science fiction, and felt that the two naturally shape and inform one another other. Discovering a site that embraced my weird philosophy on a daily basis

Well and truly said.

I think, also, that the actual terminology we use needs to be expanded a bit. There is a difference between “pain” and “discomfort.” However, it’s always addressed as “pain”. Honestly, in my own subjective 1-10 scale (which is subjective for everyone) “pain” doesn’t even register before 7. Everything else is either

Jeremy Brett is my Holmes, and that’s all there is to it. I love a good Downey or Cumberbatch, but dammit, Brett is Holmes.

So, are bitter Laurel fans trolling comments sections now or what? Felicity is a goddamn delight, regardless of the dumb surprise son storyline.

Are we watching the same show? Not saying she’s the best actress on the show, but she definitely has range. I think her issues are purely the writers’ fault for deciding Oliver deserves to be continually emotionally kicked.

Given how awesome she was in her cross-over episodes on The Flash, I’m guessing that your problem is with the Arrow writing team, not the actress.

And Phillip Jeffries (David Bowie). <sniff>

Well, besides the names noted above, the big hole in Twin Peaks is going to be the absence of BOB—the distinctively terrifying actor who played him, Frank Silva, died in 1995.

My favorite is the 1 to 10 scale. “I need pain meds!” “What’s your pain on a scale of 1 to 10?” “Three!”

So the “point to the frowny face” poster isn’t as accurate as I had been led to believe?

Now playing

Legend of Wonder Woman is best Wonder Woman take in forever and everyone should read it. It even got nominated for an Eisner recently I believe. DC should make it the canon backstory for Wondy.

Counter argument: She is still Sansa. She definitely has no ability for statecraft, and neither did her parents. Sansa as queen is really just Littlefinger as ruler.
