Yup, fun haters rollin deep.

And, you can have it your way! So no Mayo, ya sick fucks.

That was new in the 2010-2012 timeframe, all pickups have gotten considerably more expensive since then though, specifically the Raptors since they added more expensive standard items over the years like Torsen front diffs, HID’s and beadlock capable wheels. The base Scab Raptors tended to hang right below the price

Fair enough; throw a Whipple or some other FI on the 6.2L for some mild boost, problem solved. The Raptors all had way bigger tires and soft, squatty suspension on them, that’s part of why they feel slower.

I picked up my ‘12 Supercab with blue accent interior being the only option for $42,800 out the door, there were people getting better deals on loaded Scabs around that time in other parts of the country as well.

I wouldn’t say the mileage of the 6.2L was “supercar-bad”; when mine was stock I easily got 15-16MPG @80% hwy. Worst I ever got on the road towing was 11.

Have you owned, or ever even actually driven a truck with the F150 variant of the 6.2L in it? Its not a dog, it was the most powerful gas engine you could get in a pickup for several years running.

Isuzu Trooper... I'm sorry.

Meanwhile, countries like India and China give fuckall about emissions.

That is exactly how I would describe driving her Cruze when the A/C was on. The plugs may have been an issue, I tried re-gapping them and running 93 in it for a few tanks after I loaded the Trifecta tune on there and it would still sometimes shudder really hard at midrange if you tromped it.

Do you think buying back and crushing all of these TDIs, then expending the energy and resources to build replacement vehicles will be even remotely better for the environment overall? I don’t understand how we keep perpetuating this line of thinking. Also keep in mind that these vehicles consume far less fuel over

They must’ve made some improvements since ‘11 then, I always wondered if something was wrong with hers, never saw better than 40MPG. I even put a Trifecta tune on it, which helped with mid and top end, but it was always sluggish off the line unless you rode the clutch or dumped it.

Yes, we should all suffer for a large group of people that choose to cram into an urban shithole and drive out of convenience, when there’s way better public transit options available to them. Fuck that noise, there are pros and cons to both living situations, but that logic makes no sense.

Right, because its soooo great for the environment to crush hundreds of thousands of functional vehicles, then waste resources and energy to manufacture and ship new ones!

I find it hard to believe that buying it back and scrapping it is somehow better for the environment. Maybe someone can do the math but if I put another 100k on it, would the diesel emissions be worse than what it would take to build a new car and all its cleaner emissions over its lifetime...?

Not all states/localities/climates produce smog. In most states, the population density (and vehicle density) is far lower than a place like LA. In Ohio, vehicles would regularly pass eCheck with gutted cats or other glaring emissions issues, it was just a scam to collect money from everyone, good riddance.

Yeah it’s not bad, but what I’m saying is: Put a passenger and a weekend’s worth of her luggage in it and turn the A/C on, it will take about 10 sec to get to 60 then.

Take one for a test drive some time, it will feel absolutely gutless compared to your TDI. You will also only ever achieve 42 MPG under the most exceptional circumstances with the cruise set below 70MPH on the highway with the A/C off. Source: I have an old TDI and my ex had an ‘11 Cruze Eco.
