While they are water lovers, they are also able to withstand a bit of water neglect. I’d give the plant a good drink every morning. To the point where the water is threatening to spill over the top of the pot. Don’t even bother on days it rains, if the pot is in the line of raindrops.

Give it lots of sun. Make sure the pot is big enough, and water gently each day, perhaps twice a day as the summer gets hotter.
