“Crown cut” sounds fancy but it’s just the normal way that boards are sawn from a log. Quarter sawn is actually more expensive because it’s more complicated and creates more waste, but it gives you a different grain pattern which is sometimes preferred. Quarter sawn boards are also more dimensionally stable.
The problem isn’t that they’re more knowledgeable than the average consumer, its that they’re often WRONG and lie about things to the average consumer and that person doesn’t know any better.

EV batteries typically last as long as an ICE engine. It’s like asking what the point of an engine if I’m just going to have to rebuild it in 250k miles?
The Si has pretty dam good fuel economy, I had a 2017 Si and managed to get 42-47 mpg avg on the highway. My Current FK8 Type R can get 36mpg highway even if it’s rated at 32mpg
