I suspect there's a big difference between smaller town and big city dealers, particularly used car only dealers. In a big urban area there may be millions of potential customers who don't know anyone who ever bought a car at a particular dealer and maybe never even heard of it before. The opposite in a smaller place.

But being glass, the lenses didn't get all cloudy and yellowed after a few years and need replacing for hundreds of bucks. Except almost every one doesn't.
