I have longed for A Pern film forever now, mostly since I read the Harper Hall of Pern Trilogy (Menolly being my favorite character). And then it only intensified after reading Dragonsdawn.

I'm fine with the 1800's, society as a whole was still curious about the world, they hadn't thought they had discovered everything yet. And generally overall life would've been more interesting roaming the west, participating in the gold rush, maybe even fighting (and dying) in the Civil War. Who knows?

He can succeed all he wants, unfortunately this is the price of success, and while I think this game is crap and no different of a scam than a crane game. If say he had made this much success with, say, an ad driven productivity app then I wouldn't have said anything. But he didn't.

And my initial post was just supposed to be a one off of my feelings. But apparently I struck a nerve. So began the discussion/experiment in how far people go to keep something going even if it annoyed the crap out of them. I also think he made the smart play by getting out now.

Difference here is I knew what I was doing and what I roping myself into. I highly doubt most of the players knew what they were doing. Well these sorts of things do interest me on a sociological/psychological level. I myself also enjoy debating points and will often take the pedantic side of things just to have a debate. If my school had had a debate team I would've been on it.

People wanted further explanation so I provided it, initially alot of people just wanted to know why I didn't like it. And initially I was willing to provide it for them then there so were so many that it became an interesting social experiment, so they got trolled.

So expressing one's opinion is now stupid? When did that happen? I think it's a bad game, and I explained why ad nauseum why I think so.
