I ended up getting this at the local hobby shop yesterday. So far, it’s a pretty easy build to deal with and it looks so much better after the gap filler is put in. Can’t wait to get the markers I ordered next week for detailing.

Even going back and playing now, it’s still pretty solemn and dark.

Good to know. I got a Deathsythe model when I was younger as a Christmas present and definitely didn’t appreciate it; rushed through it.

Part of me thought I broke the game too, and I was terrified to see the consequences.

Man, I haven’t built a Gundam model in years, but this is making me want to go to the hobby shop around the corner and pick one up.

Honestly, Ecco the Dolphin (of all things) scared me as a kid. I remember renting it, taking it home and being super excited about it.

I’ve had mine since end of March; play it equally in handheld and docked and haven’t noticed a warping issue. I’ll certainly be paying more attention to it now though.

Man, this hits all the right notes. I legit cried when I saw the Sonic Mania trailer last year— full nostalgia blast to my childhood and playing Sonic 2 on Genesis with my dad. He was always right there to lend a hand for tricky spots or give tips for beating a level.

I’m just slightly younger (29) and don’t really remember seeing the impact of this. My youth was filled with stories about how Pokemon and Harry Potter were ruining the kids and introducing them to Satan.

Hmm, this sounds pretty neat. I may have to pick this up somewhere down the line.

Glad to see that you’re a long time Sonic fan. A few reviews I’ve read today were written by people who seemed like they went in with the “Sonic games were never good” premise, which makes for a poor evaluation.

I dunno, my NES-owning friends always wanted to play Genesis when they came over— specifically Sonic. I always wanted to play Mario when I went to their houses. Grass is always greener, I suppose.

I caught this last night and basically started tearing up over how goddamn perfect it is. My collector’s edition is supposed to ship today; I can’t believe it’s almost here.

Neat! I’ll have to pick up a set so my wife can beat me at another game too

You don’t saaaaaay?

See, this is the stuff I want on the My Nintendo Rewards. Not that I need another set of playing cards, but I’d snatch that Splatoon deck in a heartbeat.

sigh

I guess it’s all a matter of opinion/nostalgia. I grew up with Sonic on Genesis, so those games will always be held in a slightly higher nostalgic regard to me as some of my earliest memories are of Sonic 2.

It depends on what kind of Godzilla movie you’re looking for. Shin Godzilla is more akin to the original movie than anything else that followed it. Godzilla is merely a means to anthropomorphize fears of Fukishima and natural disasters, while the main focus is on the government and its inability to act quickly and
