The Vampire Huntress series by L.A. Banks is a slayer series with a black female protagonist with dreads. She also had a werewolf series with Blacks and Koreans. How to Ditch Your Fairy by Justine Larbalestier has a white washed cover but the protagonist is a black girl. That author has several YA books with POC
