Fair enough. In that regard, you are right. They probably don’t understand enough about the data to realize the problem is sample collection not sample size.

Also, when they asked for the data, it was very leading inquiry. They basically asked for data showing Uber took a big cut.
You missed the whole ‘non-random’ part of the issues he pointed out. This study was based on an internet survey by an author who dedicates half his professional time to bashing Uber. Plus, when they put out the call for data, it was very leading. They basically only asked to see the data from people who thought Uber…
One of these days Aaron is going to figure out Uber is actually Robin Hood. They steal from the rich and give subsidized rides and pay to the less fortunate.
I think people are more on the game of calculating the actual profit than you realize. The people I know that drive lyft/uber break down every day’s income and have rates to calculate out insurance, tire wear, gas costs and keep the receipts. They all seem to like driving for these companies. Of course, none treat it…
Why is it everytime I read one of Aaron’s articles I have the same response he described in his recent, I Never Knew An Op-Ed Could Be So Stupid article.
I can’t figure out why you want to see Trump elected again. I assume you really have no idea why he was elected and just spout talking points you heard from somewhere. This is the problem we run into when even CNN, NBC and other news outlets refuse to even hire someone who understands why the man was elected. I don’t…
This is true. It has always been true. The people living in these areas were sharecroppers up until WWII and finally started owning their own properties in the 50s and are still struggling, or failing, to hold on to what they have.
China has been buddies with Russia for decades. They have been holding joint military exercises for decades. This is nothing new.
Not at all. If Texas has a budget surplus, then they can spend it. It is the deficits that they don’t like. While the US has a budget deficits, most states maintain a balanced budget.
My bad. Sorry about that.
I thought about that, but since you reference the US lenders and said you worked in the automotive industry but had rarely seen trackers required, I thought you were talking about the US.
I think the more likely scenario is that the owner has to give permission for the vehicle to be tracked, otherwise it could be illegal to track a stolen car without the thief’s permission.
The owner is the one with the title, and in most cases of making payments, that is the bank/manufacturer.
Yeah, imagine if it was illegal to track someone down and take back your own vehicle (while the article implies it is the drivers vehicle, if they borrowed money on it, it belongs to the bank/manufacturer). No one would every make a car payment again.
Yeah, but who is going to enforce it? I’ve actually had police come to my door and ask if my Ring caught a thief who was stealing out of mailboxes in the neighborhood.
I agree. This has happened to me twice before in parking lots. One time someone put a dent the size of a basketball in my wife’s 3 series at a restaurant. The place had cameras in the parking lot, but they did not think it was important enough to let us check the video.
Don’t worry, sony will just reset the spiderman franchise for the 17th time. It is bound to work at some point.
Pretty sure the scenario it is designed for is to allow instagram influencers to take some pictures in it and pretend they are glamping. They want actually sleep in it. It is just for the pics.
