They use the shit out of stills in action sequences. Every other shot in a fight scene is literally not animated.

Really you should read the manga. So much gets glossed over by the movies and the original anime. You’ll miss one of my favorite fights in the series, entire characters, Guts’s backstory, etc. if you don’t read it.
