I fell off destiny a season or 2 after Shadowkeep, not due to anything more than burnout. I played it A LOT while unemployed for 9 months. I’ve kinda followed it from afar since then, but I’m thinking now might be the time to jump in again, since things seems to be improving and the plot is coming to a conclusion.

I learned about the series from Tim Rogers, whose absolutely bonkers long reviews are as poignant and insightful as they are self indulgent and navel gazing. I love his schtick. 

This is the best one of these. 

There was already a live action Mario set in a dystopian hellscape. Just saying, a John Leguizamo or Samantha Mathis cameo would have been a nice touch. Also, what was the budget for just a three minute sketch? That seemed like a heck of a lot of CGI. 

It seems like live service games can’t live in a saturated market, and that makes sense. When Destiny came out, it was kind of a now thing (not counting MMOs.) that kind of seems how it serviced into destiny 2 and into today, they had enough of an OG audience that stuck with it. There is only so much of the market…

Should they? Sure. Will they? No. They bought 10 seasons of Rick and Morty and they are gonna squeeze their value you out of it, at least for one more season. If it ends up hurting them, they can drop it anytime, but for now they are looking at their investment and are going to try the damage control route first.
