I spent nearly half a year homeless and two of the first things to go are a sense of pride and community. The article above even states that by being in this troop and having this sale that these girls feel less isolated.
I’m on the straight end of the spectrum, but my first thought on watching this video was a little prayer for my bisexual and lesbian sisters out there, so that they could survive this video.
I really enjoyed him in Life, from around 2007. Lewis, Sarah Shahi, Donal Logue, Adam Arkin, Christina Hendricks, Robin Weigert. I recommend it if you have an open space in your viewing. Two seasons. One thing it did well was show an entirely platonic but very loving relationship between Lewis and Shahi develop.
This comment showed up earlier than I expected.
“I was just there to look like I care, but I don’t” DeVos probably
“...nearly half of whites”
I remember seeing a quote last year somewhere that said:
Aw, Minor. Too soon
I’d like the mainstream media to stop referring to the NRA as a “gun rights advocacy group” and start referring to it more accurately as a “gun manufacturer’s lobbyist organization”.
Me too. And then my next thought is of how badly we have failed them.
I can’t tell you how much the actions of our nation’s teens these past few days have renewed my hope for the future. The kids are all right.
I have been a Tessa Thomson fanboy since Veronica Mars, and legitimately do not miss any movie she is in (even when she’s butchering an accent; see Thor: Ragnarok). Having said that, I’m actually kind of surprised they gave this role to someone biracial after the backlash from casting Zoe Saldana as Nina Simone. I…
YES! Earlier today on the bond article I remarked I am tired of just using women to cover for reboots of old men’s stories.
Phrasing? Do we not do phrasing anymore?
The Replacements were great, but otherwise this comment is bullshit. I’ve been to almost every major city in the U.S., and Minneapolis compares to any of them. Arts, music, food, livability can’t be beat. Except for the weather, which absolutely sucks.
My personal lily-white opinion is, an absolutely unbelievable number of PoC are going to turn out for this movie, they’re gonna go with all their kids, they’re going to go with their friends, because they’ve never been represented this way before. And all us pale-ass nerds are going to turn out because the movie looks …
Can we talk about how her husband is planning to be a stay at home dad to support her important work leading a country? Ambitious women need men (and extended family support) who are willing to play a domestic role if we are going to be able to have families and reach our goals.
To see her performance as Precious and then watch her in interviews show her personality to be almost 180 of her character I’d say she has the range at least. It’s tough to say. A lot of the material she is given is not very good.
Couldn't they have come up with a better name for their plan?
