I long ago swore to never to get involved with an Abrahms-Trek debate because while I loved it in spite of growing up on TOS-films, TNG, and loving DS9 enough to defend it to casual fans, I can understand why it rankles so many fans. I'm really surprised more bad movies don't get remakes. There are so many movies out there that had a great premise but failed due to writing, acting, effects or all three. Remake those and leave the classics something
I love this movie because it made people realize that Peter Jackson had become a terrible filmmaker.
