I love Calibre too, and it can do everything this can do and lots more. Hamster looks nice though, where I really think that Calibre could benefit from some usability and look-and-feel improvements.

It's planned obsolescence, I'm afraid.

Hey Mike, great idea for a website! I agree though: more categories will be helpful. I'd like to second platypus man's vote for a hard drive category. I wanted to look for an internal hard drive.

I agree. If this exact desktop came in a dark version, I would love it. I like the minimalism, but not the white.

If this thing would also post to a whole bunch of other classified sites, then it would be extra awesome.

I just e-mail the confirmations and receipts to myself. From there i can put them in a folder, star them, tag them or whatever, to make them easy to quickly retrieve.

I use the delicious linkrolls feature all the time. Do any of these alternatives offer that feature? I'd love to import delicious bookmarks into something that would let me list them on my website.

I've installed nearly every one of these software-based book readers (for Windows) that I can think of. Thanks, Lifehacker for finding one I hadn't tried yet. In general, I'm not happy yet. When I can do "file open" or something like it to add any book that I've already acquired, I'll be happy. When I can add EPUB

vote: whatever it is that wordpress uses. What's that called?

Its called a will. Put instructions in your will for e-mails to go out. There, done.

Word already has a very minimal full-screen option. Two of them, if you count "reading mode". Why not just use that?

I'll bet that thing gets HOT.

@tommertron: I agree. Google seems to come up with all sorts of inventive side projects, but they're rarely well connected to all the other stuff that Google does. Or in this case, they're oddly connected for some strange reason. It doesn't make sense.

@Matthew Chandler: I agree. I wish gmail would just build this feature in.

@Harrison-H: No, you're not alone. I hate touchpads too.

Dropbox keeps a version of your file for you every time you save it. Might this be another easy way to achieve version control for writers?

Vote: XBMC

Ok, I've packed my suitcase full of all the most important things I own. The rest, for the sake of argument, is crap that I'd like to get rid of. How to begin! I'm overwhelmed. I guess I'll unpack and live here.
