Which still happens today... with the lower tax rate.

he was out after a state-issued curfew, and therefore breaking the law

But the current system makes new cars more expensive... eventually making used cars more expensive. Also, the current system allows for gas prices to drop and thus (dumb) people to believe it is a good idea to buy that pickup/SUV or whatever is bad on gas, and then they get fucked when they can’t afford to put gas in

So making new cars (and thus, eventually used cars) more expensive is the better choice?

Instead of the government raising fuel economy standards, why don’t they just increase gas taxes. This would increase funding for infrastructure, while also creating an incentive for people to buy more fuel efficient vehicles.

I never thought it was that bad of a system. Sure, doing things like turning on/off the heated seats involved entering a menu on the screen, but most everything was pretty easy to find after about 20 minutes of use.

It totally depends. I drive about 25,000 miles a year, and switching from a ‘13 Xterra (average 17 mpg) to a ‘15 Golf Sportwagen TDI (average 45+ mpg) and I’m only saving about $1,600 a year. The average driver would only save about $800 a year.

They’re both ugly.

Is the Prius Prime eligible for the $7,500 tax credit?

Brammo managed to have a 6-speed transmission on their Empulse...

Yeah, it’ll never happen. Maybe they could start with the Subaru Baja, give it a little less room in the back seat, give it a bit more room for the bed, and then throw in a nice hybrid drivetrain.

I really just want a El Camino (or Ranchero for you any brand die-hard guys that insist on complicating this hypothetical) with a Volt drivetrain... maybe make it AWD. Would also be nice if it could be made into an extended cab or full crew cab, but that’s asking a lot out of a car-based pick-up hybrid.

It’s pretty damn dead. The GS of today is a joke compared to the GS of yesteryear.

I was kinda hoping for a more affordable compliment to Cadillac’s “V” series. Kinda what Pontiac’s GXP’s were.

You realize that dealerships don’t generally lose money on a sale, right? So Ford sells the Mustang to the dealer at $25,000 who sells it to the consumer at anywhere from $28,000-35,000. Meanwhile, you could have just bought it right from Ford for $26,000 and never worried if you could have saved money by going

Except the competition from other car companies...

Is the Bolt rated to tow?

None of that makes me feel bad for these people. If you want an edge up, do that by doing better in school, or running a vital club, or working on interviewing skills, or something. Paying to go to a private school to get you edge up, but comes with a higher price tag. I don’t feel bad for you if you choose that

Am I supposed to feel bad that your wife chose to take on such a ridiculous amount of debt?
