DC resident and Car2Go member starting back in 2012 here and my take is a little different: Similar to their ability to park, Smartcars filled a hole I’m not certain is actually there.

Smart Fortwo is 106" long (the original 1997 model was 98.4"). Your 80" rule would ban all Smart cars from parking perpendicular to the curb...

The stupid smart car failed because it’s stupid.

I love small cars, but Smart cars are dreadful to drive (worst transmission ever), don’t get nearly good enough fuel economy for their size, and were incredibly impractical. Wrong hill to die on.

Other things that would have saved the Smart:

That’s exactly what he’s saying... Then the author seemed to willfully misinterpret what he said and go on to expound that misinterpretation into an article.

Neither did Cosby or Weinstein. Guys who did/do that type of shit did so for power and a sense of control after a perceived slight. They didn’t do that to “get laid.”

Cosby thought he was the best of “the good ones.”He had decades worth of getting away with it to make him think he was untouchable. Plus he made it a mission for himself to go around winning white accolades by preaching respectability politics. All while secretly being a monster.
