Why is it “mind-bogglingly offensive” that the series take care to show Rand is better than the Asians (or everyone else, for that matter) at martial arts? Isn’t that, like, the premise of the show? He’s the best?

As someone who has interviewed hundreds and viewed thousands of resumes, I can state that in my experience it is the applicant pool that lacks diversity.

Unfortunately, it is becoming clear that for many people, fitting a category is the most qualifying trait.

We are all human beings, we should hire the most qualified human being for the job, stop categorizing us by race, you are part of the problem.

I love these... However they never seem to take into account the availability of qualified people. I’d love to see more women in tech and I get lectured about it by my HR rep every time I post a job... However in the last 5+ years I’ve only had one woman apply, she wasn’t qualified.
