I’d rather have both personally. I prefer watching TV most of the time from my streaming box (Roku in my case), but I do like having a PC (a Mac Mini in my case) as a solid Plan B in the rare occasions what I want to watch is not available on my Roku.

I never watched #1 or #2, but I wholeheartedly agree on having Touching The Void close to the top. I’ve watched that amazing movie many times since its release, and recommend it without reservation.
