Probably a hard sell when cylinder deactivation is a thing that exists. Last truck I rented had an 8 with deactivation and got better highway mileage than this 4cyl is advertising.

How about we extend the credit but make it income dependent and a rebate? Tesla doesn't need help getting people into $100k luxury cars, they need help getting people into $30k people movers. Moving working class families into EVs also frees up the possibility of increasing fossil fuel taxes/cut subsidies.
