Stockdale got a bad rap for that, like he actually didn’t know who he was or why he was there. Though it didn’t help that he was eventually diagnosed with Alzheimers. But I believe originally he wasn’t going to be the running mate, he was more of a placeholder.

The civil trial just had a lower burden of proof. I do wonder if he’ll get out of prison next year.

After the last incident, I think Keith Law will likely stay out of this one but he would be one to make counterpoints.

Not quite. There is Newton’s Law of Universal Gravitation, yes. But there’s also a theory. The law tells us what happens, at least under specific parameters, but not why. Newton’s law is quite good, but there are also areas where it falls apart. Einstein’s Theory of General Relativity supercedes Newton’s law.

Or Germ Theory, Cell Theory.

Too bad Baba Wawa is no longer on.

The Emergency Manager superceded the powers of the city Government at the time and was involved in the decision to use water from the Flint River as a cost saving measure.

Someone on my Facebook actually tried to blame the current mayor of Flint, saying she is a lifelong Democrat and of course would blame the Republicans, but it was the city’s choice.

He who smelt it, dealt it.

It’s not:

I’ve seen a very noticeable change in Cincinnati in the past few years. New development, gigabit fiber, I don’t feel it’s still the old city.

But doesn’t it violate the Flag Code? Not that there is any penalty for it or that I disagree with her using it of course.

There aren’t many situations where my colorblindness actually makes a difference real world. I didn’t watch the game, but from the screen cap, I cannot see a difference either.

Do celebrities actually carry that kind of cash with them, like in the Kevin Smith story? I mean, yeah, I’m sure they have a different sense of pocket money but even if you’re extremely rich, carrying 40 bills around is a bit awkward, whether $1 or $100 bills.

My brother in law made some sort of comment one Memorial Day that as a veteran, we should honor him on Memorial Day. I had to really bite my tongue to not tell him off. But I hardly see anything for Veterans Day, other than restaurants offering free meals or places offering free admission on that weekend.

It actually is in fact an island. The official name of the state is Rhode Island and Providence Plantations. The second part is the mainland.

Quite a few people actually did both. They donated money and did the ice bucket because they wanted to get in on it. I’m sure not everyone did, but there was a lot of money raised during the height. Bill Gates didn’t do it to get out of writing a check.

Right. I believe it was basically the same reason some in the Bush White House used email provided by an RNC server.

Regarding the aside on why someone that doesn’t like seafood would go to a seafood restauruant, I can see this. I happen to like seafood but generally, if the rest in my group want to go to a particular type of restaurant, I can usually find something on the menu, even if it’s not their focus.

Veruca Salt is still a bad egg.
