So they force people into storing them on post-its instead, or just not using strong passwords at all. Great policy. “Sorry, we heard a hardhat gave somebody ass cancer once. Just make sure you duck if anything comes at you.”

Get what? That they’re using “security reasons” to prevent people using from using password managers? That’s like using “health and safety reasons” to prevent people wearing hardhats.

You have to install a “bookmarklet” in Safari, and even then it’s an extra couple taps to bring lastpass up. It’s a kludge, but it works fine - I still highly recommend it.

“fine adjustment tool”

I think perhaps you have confused The Dalles and Roseburg.

It wasn’t really in the The Dalles, that’s just the county seat, so the obvious target if they wanted to mess with county elections. The commune was almost 100 miles away in Antelope. Wasco County is a big place.

Counterpoint:

A-fucking-men. I’ll still happily watch a well-written show/movie of any genre, even if it was filmed 40 years ago on something that couldn’t keep up with the camera in a modern flip phone. Throw all the RED cameras and drone shots and hyper saturated color you want at a garbage script, and it’s still unwatchable.

Thats just what they’re called. Nobody west of the Rockies sees “BLM” in print and thinks anything but “public lands”. No knock on the other BLM, but they may as well have named themselves No Africans Shall Ail.

Bureau of Land Management, part of the Dept of the Interior

“...in cowboy hats”

Local news in PDX this a.m. was all about a former BLM employee being kicked off the jury, and they were supposed to restart deliberations. Obviously he was the lone holdout on a not-guilty bill, and here we are.

I saw them all over the place in ‘90s Oregon.

Botnets == organized crime == porn operators. They’d be targeting themselves.

Here’s how I look at it; these systems are and always will be fallible. Do you want a self driving car that might get spooked by a smooshed bug on a sensor and decide to swan-dive off a cliff? Should a pauper-shaped radar artifact be able to cause your car to force a head-on collision? We can’t confuse abstract ethics

Or anywhere else in Japan, since those are standard Japanese Giant Hornets (Vespa mandarinia japonica). No mythical radioactive mutations necessary, nature has horrors aplenty.

Having one hour between getting home and making dinner to play something; spending 45 minutes on updates, then getting teabagged by a 14 year old while I contemplate whether I’d rather just get a headstart on cutting those onions.

But will you be able to put real tires on it, or is continuing the trend of dubs for all?

Exactly. With direct-drive electric wheel motors I bet some EV’s could actually beat this thing on drivetrain efficiency. The inefficiency in vehicles has always been about scale, not mechanics.

Civility requires honesty.
