The only way to seek asylum is to present yourself at a port of entry, AKA show up at the border. The people being detained are following that process.

Seems that the name is bringing some much-needed attention to otherwise boring and obscure discoveries
There are many reasons that a student might show up without a lunch, and none of them are best addressed by shaming the child or providing an inferior meal.

It’s only good June 6 2pm-5pm . . . but you could cruise around to a few different McDonald's
Pennies tho. Make a big show about the fact that you’ve filled the jar to the top, then point out that they must not get very many tippers who are this generous as the cashier scrambles to find something to dump the coins into.
willing legally obligated (fixed it for you)
Religious conviction does not exempt you from phobias and isms.
I do the same thing with a window fan, which doesn’t require any modifications to the house. Run the fan when it’s cool outside and keep everything closed up during the hottest part of the day.
I’m curious about the logistics of the ban. Since your ID is presumably only scanned when you enter, do they have to look up your name in the system after they kick you out? Or does the bouncer flag it when you try to return?

I’m wondering if this is also what happened to the “faulty” PAM cans: They released their contents, preventing the cans themselves from exploding, but the resulting vapor cloud ignited when it reached a heat source. Certainly a better outcome than a bomb going off.
I’ve met more than a few who consider it the town’s job preserve their property value by regulating paint colors, food trucks, multi-family dwellings, junk cars, backyard livestock, etc. They’re also the first to complain that historical preservation laws and short-term rental restrictions are an infringement on their…
I use a CD ladder for my emergency fund. I’m not willing to accept any risk there, and Barclays has a respectable 3.05% 5-year CD.
I miss the Salty of yore: "Calculate fair compensation for his grillside time, subtract the cost of any food consumed (not including that burger he ate after you dropped it in the coals) and make up the difference with a tip."
The chart is legit. If you look at the same data going back to 1990 (https://www.bls.gov/web/empsit/cps_charts.pdf, page 6), this is clearly the continuation of a steady decades-long trend interrupted only by recessions.
