In Metástasis, Jose rents his place from Juana under a fake name, and the last name he gives is "Mercado." And of course Jose pretends that Walter is his father, so later when Walter realizes that his name would be "Walter Mercado," he looks incredibly annoyed!

SO IN CONCLUSION:
- Je ne regrette rien, what a wonderful diversion it's been! I'd give the whole series a shaky B+, and the final episode a B. This show was pretty good and it was incredible to relive Breaking Bad. Though of course, now I want to see the original all over again, since I realized as I watched the

ABOUT THOSE LAST FEW EPS OF METASTASIS, CON MUCHOS SPOILERS
- Remember that scene in the desert when Jesse finally stands up to Walter and Walter hugs him? The Hulu vid cut to commercial right as Walter hugged Jose, so we didn't see how menacing and gross that embrace really was.

Wait did you watch the series?? Because they absolutely made a Walter Mercado joke.

What section were you in? I was all the way up in the balcony and I couldn't even see Greenwood (he was but a mere speck) but the sound was incredible!

Don't have to convince me on that point. My second favorite movie ever, going to that screening was seriously like reaffirming my faith in its power.

Ehh, probably not. Though I've definitely been moved by a lot of the key scenes! That whole sequence of Henry and María watching Walter's "confession" was pretty devastating, especially after Henry finds out that María paid for those bills with Walt's money.

Ya know, I don't think the Atonement score was bad. But compared to the TWBB score, it's way less remarkable and noteworthy and memorable. Just sayin'.

Yay Brewster!

Hilarious, that's exactly what I was gonna say! It's too bad it was deemed ineligible. I don't hear of any screenings of Atonement with a live score, hmm??

Shit is going crazy on Metástasis/Breaking Bad, SPOILERS OF COURSE, sorry my observations are a bit incoherent:

I just got home from watching There Will Be Blood with a live orchestra featuring Jonny Greenwood. I can't tell you how much I needed that. It was beautiful, it was maddening, it was stunning, and it still resonated with me even though I've seen it loads of times already. I'm tired but it feels like a light has

Sorry, I totally missed this. Uncle Jack and Todd and their gang are just lowlife criminals. It's so true that the Nazis in the original version were really used as shorthand for "these guys are REALLY bad!!" and this remake highlights how much of a lesser threat they were compared to someone like Gus. Obviously

I'm referring to this Colombian remake of Breaking Bad which is airing its last ep tonight. It was on network TV (Unimás) as opposed to cable and a lot of stuff has been censored (though it has remained surprisingly violent).

Wow, thank you so much for sharing that, it gives me a good sense of what he can expect. And it's so great he got to finish the series! I'm sorry he passed though…

Gus Fring was Chilean, but I was referring to Gustavo Cortez, who is clearly Colombian.

Actually, I think it's not out of the ordinary for them to run for just a few months. But like you, I don't make a habit of watching novelas, so I'm not 100% sure.

Totally. I mean the band was legit, right? They wrote a really good jam.

Good point, no argument from me. But try telling that to the HBO CEO of Tits…!

Yes, it's because they aired on weekdays. The original was only like 60 episodes anyway.
