It's terrible now.

That's kind of reaching.

Shows that did love potion episodes really well:
- Darkwing Duck (it was a minor subplot in the show's funniest episode actually, and Goselyn kept fucking up, and Morgana gave her shit for it)
- Ducktales (the second someone falls in love with someone else its a disaster)
- Hey Arnold (greatest subversion ever; Helga

That's probably the best way to think about it. I mean, I knew it wasn't a "clap-on/clap-off" mind control concept, but I thought at least there needed some breathing room between the anger in the revenge killing and the inevitable victory over Maul.

I think what confused me, particularly in the Phantom Menace, was when Darth Maul killed Obi-Wan's master, and Obi-Wan then fought Maul purely in anger and hate. I remember thinking, "Shouldn't there be some Dark Side threat?" There were some other moments in the prequels where the Jedi seemed comfortable with getting

This film is basically my most anticipated film of the year. I love that Dreamworks is using this franchise to push CGI towards more loonier, wackier action - a modern day Looney Toons indeed. That kind of animation is a really dying breed, with only Wander Over Yonder taking up that mantle (well, Spongebob kinda does

The Disney buying Hasbro rumor was actually tossed around about 2 years ago. Disney denied it at the time but it could pop up again.

Drawn Together belongs on the list too. The last episode layered a fake American Idol competition show on top of the already-fake reality TV show, brought in a fake Dunkleman (who was kicked off hosting duties of AI after the first season), and it ended with all the characters grabbing boxes of their stuff as if they

I'm not sure how much of Angry Beavers you watched, but that dynamic DEFINITELY changed by the end of season 2 or so, which is when the show got immensely better. Once Norbert stopped winning every goddamn thing and got more petty, jealous, and attacked, the show got so much more entertaining.

Angry Beavers is definitely great. To be clear though, Nick promoted quite a bit, and it was popular, but like Ren & Stimpy and Rocko, there were a lot of creator/executive conflicts. (Apparently, even before that audio episode, the network HATED any self-awareness gags in their cartoons).

No, it's fine. I'll tweak it, thanks for that. It is a bit clunky.

I think the thing about Family Guy, particularly in the first 3 seasons, is that the show wasn't really grounded at all; the cutaways being nonsensical was due to the fact that the show, overall, was nonsensical. (Remember, Stewie was still trying to take over the world). Family Guy trying to be more "grounded" killed

She also voiced an otter on The Penguins of Madagascar.

Funny enough, that's coming next week.

Honestly, I can't fault that kind of observation. I think the content was really strong, and it's rare in cartoons (outside of Korra) to see two female characters try and connect at some level. On re-watch, I noticed the lackluster direction and recycled animation, but the potential secrets were also interesting

It's on iTunes and on the CN website!

Jason was such an obvious loser, but Wirt couldn't see it because he was so insecure. That probably was my absolute favorite thing - Wirt lack of confidence preventing him from seeing that everyone else around him was actually kinda cool with him.

Over The Garden Wall is the perfect comfort song, basically placed in the "middle" of the series run to ease the audience a bit, before the REAL ISH begins.
