This show will have to go down as one of the best politically-minded shows, what with everything involving prison politics, mental illness, race, homosexuality, class, etc. They don't deliver everything perfectly, but they really try.
I would love to read a breakdown of how well (or poorly) the show handles the psychological aspects of the characters. I haven't been sure how realistic it is because I don't know much about personality disorders.
And I loved that her loving parents were also flawed. They were trying way too hard on her behalf, alienating the host mom. It reminded me a lot of Max-related scenes on Parenthood in the best way.
