Okay, so unlike Richard, you’re acknowledging that the statement “the primary goal of the justice system is punitive” means that you see punishment as an end in and of itself.

It’s not your admission of wrongdoing I’m finding fault with. It’s the fact that you were unprepared to offer it without first adorning the table with vile character assassination.

Yet you couldn’t just apologize, could you? You had to preface it by absolutely trashing my character yet again, as though that’s remotely relevant, and by acknowledging that while you retain your doubts, you shouldn’t have “expressed” them.
