I enjoyed the Ewoks even less than the Droids cartoon. It's obvious why Vader wasn't involved, but the show could have thrown us kids a bone by having some familiar faces with anyone… like they run into Dengar or Bossk or a squadron of Stormtroopers who have yet to learn that the war is over.

What about the Droids Saturday Morning cartoon show? I would load up on C-3POs and watch that every weekend.
