@Schreibtisch: Well, it's either that, or it's linked to really bad plagues like "Ring Around the Roses". As in, you are actually saying "God bless you, you poor son of a bitch" and then hightailing it in the opposite direction.

@Schreibtisch: You know where the whole "bless you" think comes from, right?

@sunflowersutra: I feel the exact same way... except it didn't really kick in until I moved to a city that gets to be -30 F in the winter. It took me a winter to realize why some of the homeless people here are missing extremities...

@samyoed: I think it goes beyond outer appearance, and extends to percieved personality, language, being keenly aware of ever seeing "overbearing" or "aggressive", etc. And while, yes, most of the people I've worked with are fine, you still have to go in not knowing that.

Man, that textile is worse than the ones made during the project runway HP textile challenge, and that's saying something.

@Valkyrie607votesMizJenkins: Perhaps you haven't heard, but women in Paris are planning on going around in niqabs and short shorts in Paris once the ban goes up.

@TopLevelExecutive: But.... But... we're all special individual snowflakes, be yourself!

Before and in response to people who will say "Just be yourself, don't care what other people think!"... it doesn't work that way, take our word for it. That is, if you want to get anywhere in life.

@Armer Farmer: It's easy to imagine Hunter S. Thompson doing anything after his appearances on the Venture Brothers as a GI Joe style secret ops agent, a stripper, the list goes on.

@cisum88note: I actually didn't know that, and I haven't read Gone with the Wind. Still, I'd hate for my name to be a common word or country. It's hard enough getting confused when someone else by your name gets called, let alone getting confused every time someone asks you to pass the "pepper". (I know a pepper as

@cisum88note: I went to college with a white woman named India. And we had a fourth of our 12 person class... from India. It was a little awkward.

@Joanne Michele: i passed a flagship chanel store every day for 4 years of my life... my horror face was renewed each time they replaced the clothes on the window displays.

@mallorious: Here's a good example, but it's sort of been done to death now. Business card that doubles as a pica/point ruler (used for measuring typefaces)

One of my peers during college did their thesis on the site YTMND as fine art. Fascinating.

@LatestBy: Now I'm curious, what sort of creative job path are you going into?

@LatestBy: It really depends on the job. In addition the the posts below, I have the following:

@mallorious: Depends on the field. Graphic designers are sort of expected to include a little leave behind thank you after the interview or mailed. As in, something they designed that will be useful around the office, or fun. I've seen custom card decks, mini portfolio books, etc.

Bring a resume. Also, do research pertaining to your job field. As a graphic designer, there's a whole slew of other things you need to know about portfolio preparation, leave behinds, personal logo/identity, what to show, etc, etc.

@fonsie: Wow, that was a really bold move. An awesome one, and congrats by the way.
