It’s incredibly gross that her privacy being invaded is cause for her suspension, but I’m not surprised. She could have been doing anything else in that outfit and not faced an ounce of criticism. This just reminds me of the incredibly gross comments on this article.

There are 3 Starbuck in my area that I stop in at and all of them employ mostly POC. This seems like a condescending waste of time to be lecturing these folks because some assholes 2 states away are bigots. Maybe stomp out bias during the hiring process and let the people who deserve their jobs do their work.

You’re the one who has no clue what you’re talking about if you’re dismissing the cultural impact of the rape of Nanjing. These are two distinct cultures and the influence of Chinese culture on Japanese culture is not nearly as relevant is something more recent like the Sino-Japanese. There is still much resentment

Yeah and look what they did to him.

To be fair, bluegrass still owes credit. The banjo is based on an African instrument. There’s a whole documentary with Bela Fleck exploring the African roots of bluegrass.

They handled a very clear case of discrimination and harassment poorly and now that they’re being made accountable they try to appeal? Gross. Knowing that they aren’t equipped to deal with these issues in the best interest of their employees, they should hope that they don’t get more lawsuits.

1: people like to congregate with people they have things in common with. This is especially true with immigrant populations in NYC. Not sure about the Russian community, but the Asian communities in Qns, Bk, and Chinatown are pretty connected.

The school librarian at my high school used to erase and/or deliberately skip my name on the sign in sheet for study hall when reporting attendance because I didn’t stand for the pledge of allegiance. I got in trouble for truancy until they realized what she was doing. I don’t think she got in trouble or anything;

Just saw those maps and totally didn’t realize that it seems to be a specifically NYC/LI thing to call it a “hero”. I’ll conceed to “sub” if speaking to non-NYers. I need a sammich.

Pretty sure that’s a hero.

This has made me immensely nostalgic/homesick for my second home... And I miss my grandma.

Speaking of agency, there seems to be a whole lot of projecting going on in this post. “Chi” is an adorable name with or without the significance. In fact, it’s cuter WITH the significance.

This isn’t a thing in New York City. We’ve always had to get our own bins and we paint ours because the sanitation workers don’t really care where they end up after they empty it. Makes things easier when I have to wander down my neighbor’s driveway to figure out which bin is ours after they “accidentally” take it.

But she does seem to be a horrible racist, so there’s that.

To be fair to the Kardashians, they aren’t straight up bigots.

There is no way to make a denim skirt not look tacky.

I’m grateful for the suggestion and their aesthetic is perfect... But they don’t have a single plus size item on their site (which is the issue brought up with this article). I would gladly shell out extra money for good quality, stylish coats like the ones at Aritzia if only they expanded their sizing. One can only

I just want cute tomboy clothes sans lace up, off-the-shoulder, peplums, frills and furs. I’m sick of resorting to menswear just to get decent shirts in natural fibers.
