That’s sad.

Have you heard of Indian Point?

That is a good idea. Both would be better.

You’d think but greenwashing organizations like NRDC et al only look as far as their next misguided goal.

So what’s your point? These things have a finite life, they need to be replaced and it will cost $20+ billion to build a new one. They just aren’t a cost effective way to make power.

The old style nuclear plants present an existential threat and have to be decommissioned.

There are new "walk away safe'" reactor designs that are being piloted. Hopefully in a few years we will see a significant rollout

That’s a good healthy way to look at it for Seth. It reminds me of Kevin Smith still looking fondly on “Superman Lives” because he got to write a Superman script and tool around in the DC archives.

Well that answers my question, really. I was wondering if rich folks and Times Square were getting shut off, too. Probably just people running a single window unit and trying not to die.

I am not saying enough to power the entire building, and good lord you have to be not be thinking if you think I meant a large wind turbine like the one you pictured... there are plenty that fit the roof of a standard house...

When authorities threaten power blackouts, are they talking about unpredictable failures or orchestrated shutdowns? If phones shriek, mayors squawk, and alerts go out, is it because they don’t know what could happen or because they’re going to take action? Is this done while not understanding the difference, except i

Ideally, most EV charging would happen in off-hours, when you don’t need the AC at full blast. Some utilities even offer flexible pricing to make nighttime charging cheaper.

Imagine if NYC had a nuclear powerplant that was able to produce an abundance of high quality electricity for the city and sell the surplus at a profit that benefitted the area?!

I cannot understand why places like New York have power problems... you have all these tall buildings, why are they all not sporting either Solar Panels or wind generators?

This Twitter post puts it best:

Couldn’t be any worse than the Rise of Skywalker.

*cough* Israel *cough*

You could maybe make that point...but the thing is, power doesn’t corrupt. Power REVEALS. It just shows who you were on the inside when you get that power. Steve Trevor got the power and showed on the inside he was a fundamentally good, decent man. Red Skull got it and showed he was scummy on the inside as he was on

Not sure that works at all considering mutants are supposed to be the put-upon oppressed minority and America isn’t that at all on the world stage. You don’t want your representative of an underdog to be or end up just as terrible or worse than the people they’re demanding to be equal to. Like, can you imagine a story

Yeah, I gave up years ago.
