“Let’s get him!”

This is the perfect embodiment of the level of stupidity in this country. You’re literally saying people will make the better choices after they have passed the point of no return.

People will choose what’s best for them/makes them happiest

To be fair it’s because visibility is total crap when you’re behind a truck/SUV. So then others get a higher riding vehicle to see and block the view for even more people who then buy a higher riding vehicle.

Let people dislike people liking things.

And raise gas taxes a bunch. Then use the money to fix the roads and create more mass transit.

People can enjoy things all they want, right up until it’s actively harmful to everyone around them. Driving giant gas guzzling SUVs because it makes you feel like a bigger person is actively harmful.

Tax more vehicles that pollute more. Definitely an unpopular move but it works. (most) People do not care about the environment. They will start to care when it affects their wallet.

“But I like to sit up high!”

Really disagree with this, particularly the sports car part of the analogy. They’re actually pretty antithetical to each other. Torch or somebody made this point in an article about being a ‘tough guy’ on the road a little while ago. There are fewer small, interesting cars on the road because these behemoths make it

To be clear, I personally think it’s, in some ways, a bit lame. But that’s just the hardcore off-roader in me. The logical person in me (who, surprisingly, made an appearance for this article) says “It fills a hole in the lineup, it looks good, it’ll sell, people don’t go off-road anyway, etc etc.”

when a change fails to make a difference they just move to the next restriction

I gotta come back here for one more thing:

It’s extremely frustrating how if anyone takes any stance on firearms other than completely unfettered access to every firearm ever conceived, you are “ANTI-GUN.”

So, basically, non-Tesla carmakers have standards?

Also I’m fat.”

Just got back from a vacation in Alaska. In Skagway the pump didn’t take my card. I went in to tell the lady and do the normal pre-pay guesstimate nonsense.  She told me to go back outside and fill up and come back in to pay.  So, fill up.............THEN PAY.  This was such a curveball, but I did recall that this was

Best explained in 1929 by Grossmann in his work, The Law of Accumulation and Collapse of the Capitalist System, capitalism’s fatal flaw is that, unchecked and unfettered, it will divide wealth in such a way that workers will, eventually, be unable to afford the goods they produce. At that point, the businesses they

What in the world is even middle class in America anymore? I feel like to have a comfortable middle class life and not live in the boonies, you need to be making 200k+ household... And to truly afford a 50k car, you need to be making 200k. Your house shouldn’t be more than 3 times your yearly income and your cars
